We are almost at the end of 2013 and what a year it has been. Ups and downs and sometimes more of the one than the other, but, we have a lot to be thankful for.
Looking back we can see were we have been led, protected, taken care of and guided on our ways. There were times when things did not go as we had planned and times when plans paid off and resulted in fantastic results.
At this time of giving we have the opportunity to reflect on what we have received but also on what we have given and contributed. This morning when my 4 year old son saw his first bicycle, which I assembled last night and finished at 1am, I realised why Christmas is more fun when you have children. Why the gift of giving, is truly a gift and a privilege without expecting to receive anything in return. The pleasant excitement and increased heartbeat when the kids tear the wrapping and the cameras rolling and clicking to capture the moments.
And then, the reflecting on another gift, the gift of Life, Salvation and Eternal Love. Although there are many reasons and arguments as to why December 25th is not the real birthdate of Christ, I cannot help but reflect and consider the Gift of the Giver. The birth of a Solution to war, hatred, jealousy and sin. An unquestionable love and gift of grace that we experience every day. Every breath that you, the very one reading this, takes, is a gift; a blessing. A privilege beyond our control.
Take this time to reflect and think of the opportunity you may have in giving to someone else.
Thank you for everyone’s support in the past year and encouragement.
God Bless and greetings until the New Year.
Michael
