must be one of the most well known songs of Demis Roussos. He just had the knack to be able to sing that song in a way no one else could.
So listening to that I drove out Sunday morning before sunrise with the hope of capturing some water action around the rocks at Hartenbos beach. When I got there I was not impressed with the way things were looking and I had to make a quick decision. Go back home and get back into bed, or race drive out to another spot for the sunrise. So of I go….quiet roads made getting there quick, but I was late. Landscaping 101….give yourself enough time to get to your spot and find a good composition….failed…dismally!!!!!
I was rushed and not prepared which made me waste an awesome, awesome sunrise.
After I reminded myself to give myself a good boot I got up off the big plate of rock and headed around to the fishing spots. There is just that something about fishermen, rocks and ocean. Everyone has taken at least one good shot of a fisherman on some rocks but I have yet to see that one shot that really makes me say WOW…that is what it should look like. What struck me about this shot I took was the immense contrast between man and nature. Waves pounding against the rocks without mercy, the rocks standing their ground and man trying to reap the bounty of ocean life with his fishing rod.
Have a super weekend all and hope to post something again over the weekend.
God Bless!!
Michael.
