The Beauty of Maternity

The joy and excitement of a new life is something that can not be replaced with anything else. There are few things in life that provide you with the joy, worries, excitement, suspense and glowing smile as your pregnancy.

Doing a photo shoot at this time is special. It is time where you can dress up, make up find an excuse to go shopping and visit the spa for a maternity special.

The best time to do the shoot is from 32 weeks onwards to about 36 weeks. During this time you are still mobile and will be able to move around. Your belly is full and round and you will be glowing. Shoots are usually planned for late afternoon or early mornings. Dad also needs to be there so try and plan according to his schedule as well. Shoots can be done at home or at a site of your choice. The beach and nature shoots always work well and give fantastic results to help you remember those special times.

What to wear?

Wear light clothing which isn’t tight. Lines from too tight clothing are unsightly. Dresses are always classic and flowing light material will be comfortable and really accent your figure. You could also use a belt under the bust to accentuate your natural curves. If you are comfortable showing your belly you can wear a lace bandeau top. Feminine and smart they bring style to a maternity shoot. These can also be paired with button down tops or light short sleeved or summer boleros.

You can also bring some props for the shoot. Booties, toys or objects from the nursery. Shoots at home naturally incorporate the nursery as well. Sonogram pictures or anything special to your during your pregnancy. That tub of peanut butter you have been craving on is also welcome.

Who comes with?

Bring the family, siblings and even the family pet. If you are all coming together plan your outfits so they are coordinated. You don’t want everyone in white and one bright red shirt. That will just detract from the shoot and you want all the attention on you and your belly 🙂
